FAQ

If your questions aren't answered here, please feel free to reach out to Lauren and/or Jose directly.

You can also search FAQs below, if that's easier!

  • What is the dress code?
For the wedding, please look to dress in Garden Formal attire (inspiration below). The rest of the week is entirely up to you (we know this is Spain, but no birthday suits please).
  • What are the gift expectations?
We understand and greatly appreciate the time and expense required for a destination wedding. Therefore, we do not expect any further gifts from our guests. For those who do still wish to send a gift, our registry is available on this website. We ask that anything larger than a card be sent to our home directly, rather than brought to the wedding.
  • What should I expect at the accommodations?
Instead of needing to book a hotel, all guests will receive a "casita" that they will share with their partner or other known acquaintances. In your casita, there is a bed(s), bathroom, and kitchenette. The Cortijo itself does not provide food, beverage, or toiletries beyond a small initial starter kit.
  • Where should I fly to?
Malaga International Airport (AGP) is the closest major airport, and about a 45 minute drive from the venue. If you plan to explore other parts of Spain or Europe beforehand, you can also take a train to Malaga.
  • Do I need to know Spanish to travel in Spain?
In our experience, major cities near your stay (Marbella and Malaga) are very English-friendly. In smaller cities, it may be helpful to know some Spanish, or have Google Translate ready!
  • Should I rent a car?
It depends. The venue is about a 45 minute drive from Málaga airport. If you would like the means to make some stops to explore, rentals were under $20 per day across various rental options at the airport (we strongly recommend you book this ahead of time). Using a service like Uber is also an option. Ubering from the airport to the venue currently costs around $115. Cars drive on the right sight of the road in Spain (same as the US and the Philippines), but can be a little crammed/chaotic, especially when downtown. However, driving on the highway is very similar to the US. Just keep in mind you are driving in kilometers, not miles per hour!
  • Can I RSVP online or do I have to mail in an RSVP card?
We invite you to RSVP online here or by mailing in the RSVP card sent with the invitation.
  • What if I can't make it?
We understand that this is a large commitment we are asking from our guests, and that not everyone will be able to attend. We hope to celebrate with you separately at another time in the near future.
  • When should I RSVP by?
We kindly ask that you RSVP by April 1, 2025. The sooner we know, the sooner we can provide you more details regarding the trip!
  • Besides the wedding, what are we doing during our stay?
After RSVPs are finalized, we plan to send more information with specific activities during the week. Think events such as a welcome paella dinner, vineyard tour, bachelor/bachelorette parties, etc! And of course, a few days for down time or your own exploration.
